Education

Ph.D. Psychology

New York University

B.Sc. Psychology

Duke University

I am a cross-cultural psychologist trained and licensed in the United States, and I specialize in sexuality and relationships using a socially conscious, cultural approach.

In addition to my clinical work, I have worked as a policy expert and activist on sexual health globally. I have also directed research projects in non-profit organizations and have taught psychology for over two decades as an associate adjunct professor at New York University.

I am multilingual in English, Turkish, French and Italian.  I lived, worked, and traveled in over 25 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, North America and South Asia.

Because of my background as a "third-culture kid," I understand and form strong empathic bonds with clients from different cultures and communities. I specialize in working with individuals who are bicultural, multicultural, immigrants or expats.

Most of my clients are multicultural in one form or another and some also belong to different communities such as the LGBTQIA+ community or those in poly, kink, swinging or open relationships.  All genders, sexualities, and relationship styles are welcome.

I am a long-time practitioner and instructor of tai chi, bagua and qigong, and am also a certified Medical Qigong Therapist (a healing modality) and Instructor of Earth Qigong for Women, which is a movement practice aimed at enhancing women’s sexual and reproductive health and well-being. I also use these modalities in my work with clients as needed.
